Where we test

Based in Fontana. About an 80-mile service radius. Fleet yards welcome.

Why Torque Edge

We diagnose, fix, and pass the trucks we test.

Other testers leave when the truck fails. That is where we start. CEL, DPF, DEF, NOx, aftertreatment — we find the fault, fix it, and run the Clean Truck Check again until it passes. Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR, International, and most other 14,000+ lb diesel platforms we support daily. If we cannot complete the test on-site, we tell you before we start.

FAQ

What is CARB Clean Truck Check?

It is the Heavy-Duty Inspection and Maintenance (HD I/M) program. Subject vehicles must pass periodic emissions tests and stay current in CTC-VIS.

How often do I need testing?

Most vehicles test twice per year. Starting October 2027, OBD-equipped vehicles are expected to test four times per year. Check your dates in CTC-VIS.

OBD or opacity — which do I need?

2013 and newer engines typically need OBD. 2012 and older typically need opacity plus a visual inspection. Tell us the engine year when you book.

What if I fail?

The truck must be repaired and retested. Unresolved failures can lead to DMV registration holds, fines, and enforcement. We can diagnose the fault and retest after the repair.

I am registered out of state. Do I still need this?

If the vehicle operates in California and meets the GVWR rule, Clean Truck Check generally still applies. Confirm in CTC-VIS.

Do you test diesel RVs?

Yes, diesel motorhomes over 14,000 lbs GVWR. RV Clean Truck Check details.

What do I need on test day?

The truck on site, a driver or key, and your CTC-VIS account if you already have one. We handle the test and filing.
