Compare reported level with the tank
- Save the full code list and identify the applicable engine and header. Review whether the fault concerns fluid level, signal quality or communication.
- Check actual DEF quantity using the vehicle's approved inspection method; compare it with the reported level. A full tank and a low reading require investigation rather than repeated filling.
- Use the matching wiring and diagnostic procedure for connector, supply and communication checks. Do not assume every header has the same pinout.
- Check quality faults and inducement separately. Complete the OEM verification after correcting the cause.
